The new Alli Diet System?

Some people were talking about it at work. I guess it blocks 50% of the fat from being absorbed, and instead sends it out of your system.

In turn, one of the "treatment effects" (I suppose that's a nice name for side effect) are loose stools, and...get this..."oily gas". If you eat more than the reccommended amount of fat per day, THAT'S what can happen.

HUH?! I was a little disturbed by this. Oily farts? Gross!

As soon as I saw your post I knew I had to mention the "oily gas," but I see you've done that already. That alone is reason enough to leave it on the shelf.

Yes, oily gas...and the group discussing it chose the best time...lunch of course. Blech!

Basically, as far as I understand it, it makes the fat globules you digest to large to be absorbed into your system so they pass through you. The byproduct has got to be horrifying.

Keep Your Love Alive

Been a while since you last went skinny-dipping or watched the sun rise? One guy gives 26 heart-felt (and yes, some risque) tips to keep your blood pumping. Here's the A-to-Z guide:

  • Agreeing to Try Everything. It's hard to make time for each other within daily routines and schedules, but take a stab at new activities and adventures. Nothing's worse (or easier) than getting stuck in a dull routine.
  • Breakfast Break. Once a week, visit a neighborhood restaurant for breakfast. It's a perfect time to relax together -- and 20 minutes of coffee and bagels do count as breakfast!
  • Camping Out. Don't have time to go camping? Pitch a tent in the backyard! You'll have an excellent adventure. Although, the giggling coming from your tent may wake your neighbors.
  • Dishes a Deux. Just imagine how much fun you two can have with suds -- and then you can move on to man-handling more important things.
  • Exercising Together. You'll not only get in shape, you'll encourage each other to stick with it! Once home, make each other clean in the shower.
  • Flower Bed. Take some time together to plant flowers in your yard or in a window box. Your new seedlings will be like little kiddies, and you'll both love watching them "grow up."
  • Grocery Shopping. Make it fun! Shop for each other's favorite foods, race through the aisles with carts, and gross out little old ladies by kissing in the produce section. Once at the checkout, try to guess the total bill. Whoever loses has to make dinner.
  • Playing Hooky. Call your boss and take a sick day. (Just don't say it was our idea.) Go to the zoo or a ballgame, or rent some sexy videos and watch them in bed. Whatever you do, make sure it's far, far away (mentally and physically) from the office.
