Has anyone tried this? While we don't have kids yet, my DH and I are extremely bad about eating our vegetables. I thought that this might be a good way to add vegetables to our meals.

Thanks ladies!

I haven't tried anything yet, in fact, I went to buy it last week and they didn't even have it out at the B&N near us. I am going tomorrow and checking it out. If it is as easy as it sounds and as yummy, I'm sure I will end up buying it.

I hope someone is able to help you with your ?.

I saw the book in Target, but didn't get a chance to really look at is as DS was in a mood.

But I did read an article in a parenting magazine about Jessica and the book. It sounded really good!

I asked DH to get it for me for Christmas. DS HATES vegetables and fruits like me...I have to sneak them in however I can. I look forward to trying some of the recipes!

I posted about the book this afternoon. Here is what I wrote...

Not sure if anyone has the same problems that I do with getting my son and husband to eat more veggies and healthier food but I wanted to recommend the new book, "Deceptively Delicious" if you do. My son will gobble chicken and fruit but ignored any veggie I out on his tray. My husband will only eat lettuce and green beans. The book is a guide and cookbook for sneaking in healthy veggie purees with good tasting food.

Yesterday I made cheese quesadillas with butternut squash and you couldn't taste the squash at all. I also made the chicken tender recipe with squash and whole grain breading. Everything was great.

Just wanted to recommend for anyone who has the same concerns I do about having your family eat properly prepared veggies and whole grains and get the right balance every day.

Right now, DS is a good veggie eater. I did threaten DH today though that I was going to get the book so I could get some him to eat some veggies...lol.

5 Steps to Simpler Bills
You’ve merged your lives, and possibly your accounts, but now you have all this extra stuff to manage, including more bills. But it doesn’t have to be so painful (except for the parting with your money part). Follow our tips to make this chore quick and efficient.

Step 1: Get organized.
No, it’s not impossible! In fact, our way is simple -- and makes life easier too.

How? Start by establishing a clear division of which spouse pays which bills, or by putting one of you in charge of all payments. When the next bill arrives, toss out the junky extra paper stuffed inside and file your statement in a specific place -- your organizer, a filing cabinet, anywhere with easy access. Then go to the calendar you check every day, write the bill’s name on its due date (or the date you need to mail the check by), and highlight it in pink. With your paydays in mind, select one or two days of each month (preferably the day you get paid) to write checks. This way, you can budget the rest of your month based on what’s left in the bank.

Step 2: Consolidate billing cycles.
It’s no fun to feel like everyone is demanding a piece of your paycheck all the time. But getting all your statements on a schedule that works for you will allow you to attack other projects.

How? Ask your credit card and utility companies if you can select a new due date. Depending on your financial situation, you might want all bills due at one time and be done with them or have them spaced out twice a month. After the first schedule is made, you will know what to expect every month.
